Our "Dress a Doll Contest" for charity is complete and what a response!

Peggy had 50 dolls that needed clothes. (See the history article below.) Participants  received a doll at Sewers Dream Outlet, dressed the doll any way they chose. Dolls were returned to Sewers Dream Outlet by mid Nov, 2007.

Participants had fun with designs, but most importantly, they were creating a lovely gift for a child! Dolls were displayed at Sewers Dream Outlet and were then donated on the designers' behalf, to the Skagit Valley Herald Xmas Fund.

Peggy Shafer, owner of Sewers Dream Fabric Outlet, loves a bargain. In her travels she found 50 dolls that needed clothes. She purchased the whole lot with proceeds going to the Humane Society. Then she thought of another idea to help to contribute to the community. Why not have a contest to dress these dolls? Then donate them to help out local kids through the Skagit Valley Herald Xmas Fund!

Peggy knew her customers at Sewers Dream Fabric Outlet would really embrace this challenge. So she developed the contest which began July 31, and offered prizes to 'doll designers'. Congratulations to Peggy on using her abilities to help all of us give back to those in need.
